In 1984, American student Joanna Stingray stepped on this side of the Iron Curtain for the first time to discover the unique world of Russian rock, a world that became her second home. "RUSSIAN ROCK MUSIC. HISTORY is a companion to Joanna's first two books: Stingray in Wonderland and Stingray Through the Looking-Glass.
The material for the book was unique documents that are published for the first time. Readers will get acquainted with dozens of photographs and still frames of video recordings from the author's personal archive, which Joanna and her sister Judy took during their stay at the epicenter of Leningrad's musical life.

Thousands of photographs, hundreds of hours of video filming: concerts, rehearsals, interviews with musicians and artists, producers, journalists and photographers who determined this time - the time of the "golden" period of Russian Rock and the art underground. Each new chapter reflects the next visit of Joanna Stingray to Russia. The reader is introduced to the stories of Russian rock in the order in which Joanna met him. The album contains only a part of the priceless materials relating to her stay in Russia in the late 1980s. All materials in the book are published for the first time.
